Brian is a qualified Coach in Running Fitness with UK Athletics, he has led running groups for over 5 years, he has designed bespoke training plans for runners for over 4 years, helping them achieve their goals, he has helped runners train for their first 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon or Ultramarathon and helped runners achieve personal bests in all distances and good for age results for entry to the London Marathon, with his bespoke training plans, tailored for the individual. he himself is a keen runner and takes part in events throughout the year, over varying distances, he can often be found training on the local trails in South Devon.
Coaching and Training Plan Details
Do you need a training plan for your next race? Do you want to take on your first 5k or other distance?
Perhaps you need some motivation to achieve your next goal or ambition in running. Whatever your goal, I can help you!
I don’t believe in generic training plans; every person is an individual and a training plan should reflect that, my training plans take into account various bits of information about you, I send you a questionnaire to fill out and return, then we have a chat either in person or on the phone and only then do I create your bespoke training plan.
The plans take into account, amongst other things, your overall goal, your current fitness level, other training you do, your work and the time you have available to train.
The training plans are usually divided into 8 week blocks of training, but may vary depending on your personal requirements. In most plans there will be a midway benchmark session aimed at determining how the training is going.
Costs for Training Plan
Training Plan Bronze – A 16 week (or less) training plan – £25 – This will involve 1 meet (depending on location) or phone call before the plan is created and 1 phone call part the way through your plan to discuss your training and tweaking the plan if required.
Training Plan Silver – Up to 6 Month Training Plan & Weekly Contact – £35 – This will involve 1 meet (depending on location) or phone call before the plan is created and 1 phone call each week of your plan length to discuss your training and tweaking the plan if required. I will also monitor your Strava or similar to check on your progress and give feedback.
Training Plan Gold – Up to 6 Month Training Plan & a once a week 1 to 1 training session – £42 a Month – This will involve 1 meet or phone call before the plan is created and a weekly 1 to 1 training session (see below for types of session and locations covered), each week of your plan length, at the session we will also discuss your training and tweak the plan if required. I will also monitor your Strava or similar to check on your progress and give feedback.
1 To 1 Training Sessions
I offer 1 to 1 training sessions in Torbay, Totnes, Teignmouth, Dawlish or Newton Abbot at a cost of £12 per session or £40 for 4 weeks booked in advance.
The training session is designed for you and will be tailored to your requirements, it can be one of a choice of sessions either focusing on speedwork, hills, trails or technique and form.
Group Training Sessions
I will be starting some group training sessions; these will be similar to the above sessions, but taken in groups of up to 6 people. The cost of these will be £4 a session.
After all sessions (1 to 1 & Group) you will be asked how you felt the session went and receive feedback from myself on any improvements, techniques, form you can work on.
Guided Trail Runs & Introduction to Trail Running
I will be starting some group Trail Runs and some Introduction to Train Running sessions in the near future. The cost of these will be £4 a session.
