50k Ultra, Marathon or Half Marathon multi-terrain routes along the Exe Estuary

 

Exe Estuary 50K Ultra

Multi-terrain 50k along the Exe Estuary

Starting at Marine Drive in Exmouth, the gently undulating route heads along Exmouth Prom and joins the Exe Estuary Trail, here it winds it way alongside the Exe Estuary through the picturesque villages of Exton, Lympstone and Topsham, before entering Exeter Riverside Park and the Quayside, for the 50k the Exter section is done twice done twice before returning back through Topsham etc to the finish line at Exmouth, the route just for October 2021 is now flatter then before.

The route is multi-terrain and for Devon the majority is gently undulating there is approx 900 ft of ascent for the 50k

The route is easy to navigate on Country Lanes, Riverside Paths and Trails but we will have extra signage, markings and some marshals along the route. The roads you will run on are quiet but are not closed roads and there are some road crossings, including two crossings of the busy Bridge Road in Exeter, where you will use the Pelican Crossings helped by marshals. 

For the finishers of the Ultra there is a big bespoke medal and finishers T-shirt.
There is a generous 8 Hour Cut-Off for the Ultra.

The Exe Estuary Ultra is a cupless event, all runners will need to bring there own cup or bottle.

The route will have 3 aid stations which you visit twice, except the Exeter Aid station which you see 3 times.

Multi-terrain Marathon along the Exe Estuary

Multi-terrain Half-Marathon along the Exe Estuary

Starting at Marine Drive in Exmouth, the gently undulating route heads along Exmouth Prom and joins the Exe Estuary Trail, here it winds it way alongside the Exe Estuary through the picturesque village of Lympstone and into Exton, where you will turn around at a marshal and return the way you came through Lympstone to the finish line at Exmouth,  the route just for October 2021 is now flatter then before.

The route is multi-terrain and for Devon the majority is gently undulating there is approx 400 ft of ascent for the Half Marathon.

The route is easy to navigate on Country Lanes, Riverside Paths and Trails but we will have extra signage, markings and some marshals along the route. The roads you will run on are quiet but are not closed roads.

For the finishers of the Half Marathon there is a big bespoke medal and finishers T-shirt.
There is a generous 5 Hour Cut-Off for the Half Marathon.

The Exe Estuary Half Marathon is a cupless event, all runners will need to bring there own cup or bottle.

The route has one aid station you visit twice.

Covid 19 – Extra Measures (Subject to change if the government guidance changes, final measures will be emailed to you)

1) Race Numbers & Safety Pins will be posted out to you prior to the event, the first week of November.

2) You will be given a start time to come to Race HQ area, please do not arrive before that time, please wear a face mask until you start. You will have a Wave Number, wait just outside Race HQ until your wave number is called, then you will walk to a holding area.

3) When your wave number is called, while you are in the holding area, then you come to the Start Line.

4) When at the start line, there are markers on the ground, stand on one of these 2 metres apart from the other runners. There will be a maximum of 10 runners per wave.

5) Waves start every 2 minutes. Please wear a face mask while waiting to start and after you cross the finish line.

6) Please park in the nominated car parks in the final Event Information PDF. Please keep spectators to an absoloute minimum and they must also follow all socially distancing guidance at all times.

7) Toilets are located at the Fox Holes Car Park, which is a half mile walk to the Race HQ, listen to the marshal and socially distance while queuing, please use the hand sanitizer before entering and when leaving.

7) Please abide by all social distancing guidelines before, during and after the event, do not stand in groups of more then 6, keep 2 metres apart. Please follow any one way or no entry signs at the event.

8) While running keep 2 metres apart from the other runners where possible, while overtaking please keep this as brief as possible and do not cut straight back in, in front of the other runner. You will be running in the opposite direction to other runners at times, please keep as much distance as safely possible when doing this, the same applies for other path users.

9) Please be aware you have no right of way of any other users of the Path and must respect social distancing at all times.

10) Please use the Hand Sanitizer before using the Water Stop.

11)At the Finish, put your mask on, you will be congratulated and shown the table to pick up your medal, they will also look at your race number and put the T-shirt for you on the table, with the size your requested when entering, once this is done please leave the Race HQ area, there is plenty of space along the Promenade to sit and recover, but we need to keep the finish area clear.

13) TEAMSS Medical Services will be attendance.

14) MOST IMPORTANT! – If you are feeling unwell, have any of the Covid Symptoms, have a cough or sneeze, have a temperature of 38c or higher, live in an area currently under “lockdown or no travel” restrictions, have been in contact with anyone with symptoms in the last 14 days then you must not attend the event, stay at home and get tested.
