Summer Canal CaNTER

A flat Half Marathon and 10k in Devon on the Grand Western Canal

The Summer Canal Canter routes heads along the picturesque Grand Western Canal, each event turns at a certain point and heads back to the finish at the Canal Basin. 

The Half Marathon route starts at Tiverton Canal Basin and heads along the canal paths for 6.6 miles to Sampford Peverell, here is the turn around point, where you head back to Tiverton,  For the 10k you run to just passed Tiverton Bridge car park and turn around (a Marshal will be here). 

There is approx. 90ft of ascent in the Half Marathon and a bit less in the 10k making it a flat fast course along hard packed gravel canal paths.

The Provisional Timetable for the day is: 

Half Marathon –  8.30am Start (3hr cut off) 

10k – 9am start ( 2 hr cut off)

50% of all the profits from the event are being donated to “The Friends of The Grand Western Canal”

Runners must be over 18 for the Half Marathon, Over 16 for the 10k
