Winter Trail Series Championship 2026/2027

The Winter Trail Series consists of 3 10k Trail races hosted by Winding Paths Ltd.

Cockington Christmas Caper – Sunday 6th December 2026

Final Countdown 10k – New Years Eve 2026

Winter Trails 10k – Sunday 21st February 2027

Anyone taking part in these events will automatically be entered into the Solo Category Trail Championships.

Each placement is awarded points based on your finishing position, with the most points being given to the 1st place finisher and so on, the person with the highest points total from their best 2 events wins (see tie break below).

To qualify for a solo category you must take part in at least 2 of the events, however you can take part in all 3 and your 2 best placements will count, in case of a tie, anyone that has done 3 events will take the win, in case this is still tied, your overall time on your placements will be used to break the tie.

The Team Awards are for Clubs or Running Groups, you do not need to create actual teams for each event, at each event we look and find the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers for each Club/Group and they are the “Team” for that event, for the Mixed “Team” we use the Top 2 Male and Top 2 Female members to be the “Mixed Team” for that event. This means a “Team” from a certain club may be formed a different people at each event, the more members your Club/Group enter into an event the better.

The top 3 in each SOLO category win an award.

The categories are:

SOLO Runners (best 2 events count)

Senior Male – Senior Female – MV40 – FV40 – MV50 – FV50 – MV60 – FV60 – MV70 – FV70

TEAM Awards (all 3 events count)

The runners in a team do not have to be the same people at each event, we will count the top runners for each club at each event, the championship Team awards will go to the Club itself. Each event will have team prizes for the actual team on the day, but for the Championship, the Award is given to the Club.

Men’s Team (3 Men) – Women’s Team (3 Women) – Mixed Team (2 Men & 2 Women)

CLUB (all 3 events count)

Largest Club ( this is the club who fielded the most club members over the entire 3 events). We will count all members of each running club at each event, then each club at each event will be given points, 1 point for the largest number, 2 for the second largest and so on. At the end of the 3 events the club with the lowest number of points will win, if this is tied, the total number of runners across all 3 events will be used to break the tie.

IMPORTANT

When entering make sure you had your Team/Club name, if you have already entered or forget to do this, email brian@windingpaths.uk and ask for your team/club to be added, BUT you cannot ask to add a Team/Club after the event has taken place, it must be done at least 7 days before the event to count.

You do not need to be an Affiliated Club or Group to take part in the Team Category, but you do need to add the Team/Group name in the box when entering an event.
